Regulations

The European Union, in the context of the risk due to the presence of potentially explosive atmospheres, has adopted two European directives on health and safety, known as ATEX 2014/34 / UE (also ATEX 114) and ATEX 99/92 / CE (also ATEX 137 now ATEX 153).

The ATEX directive 99/92 / EC defines the minimum health and safety requirements in workplaces with the presence of potentially explosive atmospheres; in particular, does it divide them into zones, according to the probability presence of explosive atmosphere and specifies the criteria on the basis of which the products are chosen within these areas.

The ATEX 99/92 / EC directive and was implemented in Italy with Legislative Decree 233/03, which entered into force on 10 September 2003.
